With the growing concerns about the possibility of further spread of the coronavirus in our community and the government’s recent decision to raise the alert status to the highest level, it is expected that many foreign workers who seek to change employment face undue hardship in finding employment opportunities under these dire circumstances. Therefore, the MOEL decided to extend the expiration date of job-hunting period until April 30 for all foreign workers who are seeking to change their employment.
In consideration of the above, foreign workers who are currently seeking jobs to change their employment should refrain themselves from making visits to local job centers, and taking trips to other local areas or cities even for employment purposes.
<1> Upon the submission of application for workplace change by a foreign worker, an assigned officer at a local job center applies the extension to the expiration date of the applicant’s job-hunting period
❍ All foreign workers who are currently seeking jobs to change their employment have the extension to their remaining job search period for the length of time which the original grant provided, when the effect of the extension ends, from February 28 to April 30.
- Please contact local job centers for further inquiries.
<2> Making in-person visits to job centers, and taking trips to other local areas or cities should be avoided, unless necessary.
❍ Please contact the local job center online (EPS webpage, www.eps.go.kr), or via fax or email for in-person customer services, and refrain from visiting the place, unless necessary.
- To avoid the virus from spreading widely across the nation, please stay within your local community.
